Current Crush: Foil-Stamping

Even though foil stamping is a classic staple in stationery design, Persnickety has watched this printing technique skyrocket in popularity within the last year. Brides can’t get enough foil, and we can’t exactly blame them!

Foil-stamping is an intensive printing process that requires a specialty press, metal dies, and foil rolls. These rolls come in a variety of colors, particularly in matte or glossy metallics, like gold, silver, rose gold, or copper. The metal die is cut using the exact invitation wording, then heated and stamped with enough pressure to fuse a thin piece of foil to the paper. The final result is a beautiful stamping with foil only appearing over the text or design on the invitation suite.

The beauty of foil stamping lies in its versatility; the entire stationery suite can be foil-stamped, making for a bright, bold look, or tiny elements can be foil-stamped, keeping your invitation clean and traditional. Foil-stamping can be incorporated into just about every invitation design and is perfect for every caliber of wedding.

Persnickety has created some gorgeous foil-stamped invitations in the last year, and we definitely do not see this trend slowing down! The best part is that you are not limited to a custom design in order to have a beautiful, foil-stamped invitation set.
